Salomé Bonnema

Violin

Salomé Bonnema (2001) started playing the violin at the age of five and received lessons from Koosje van Haeringen from the age of seven. When she was nine years old, she was accepted into the Young Talent department of the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague and is now studying for her bachelor’s degree at the same conservatory. She has been studying with Vera Beths since 2016.

Salomé frequently performed as a soloist and as a member of various ensembles in recent years. Some highlights were performances as soloist for the Menuhin School Orchestra, for the UNICEF Gala in Cologne (Germany), for Princess Beatrix during the "School for Young Talent Meets Europe" festival and in the Kleine Zaal of the Concertgebouw. In 2019, Salomé had the opportunity to perform as a soloist several times together with Reinier Wink in Brahms' double concerto together with the Atheneum Chamber Orchestra. In addition to the concerts in the Netherlands, they also had the opportunity to perform this double concerto during a tour in Switzerland.

Salomé has won prizes during competitions, such as the Netherlands Violin Competition, cat. Iordens and cat. Davina van Wely and the Prinses Christina Concours. She was also a prize winner and finalist in the International Violin Competition in Kloster Schöntal (Germany).

She received lessons and master classes from, among others, Frank Peter Zimmermann, Petru Munteanu, Anner Bijlsma, Philippe Graffin, Christian Altenburger, Baiba Skride, Simone Lamsma and Rosanne Philippens.

Salomé plays a Charles Adolphe Gand violin on loan from Beare's International Violin Society. She is also grateful for her Charles Peccatte violin bow from 'the Tettelaar collection' on loan from the Nationaal Muziekinstrumentenfonds.
